Our food bundles come with a returnable picnic mat, basket and thermal flask. A refundable deposit applies to all picnic rental bundles and will be collected separately by our team when you pick up your picnic items at our cafe.

  • What is Park Side Rent-A-Picnic?
    Rent-A-Picnic is a fuss-free outdoor dining experience by Park Side. Choose a picnic bundle, collect your food and rental items from Park Side, then enjoy your picnic within the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

    What are the timeslots available?

    • 10am–2pm

    • 2pm–6pm

    All rental items must be returned to Park Side on the same day, by the agreed return time.

    Where can I have my picnic?
    You may enjoy your picnic in suitable public areas within the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Picnic spaces are not reserved and remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • How do I order a picnic set when I’m at the cafe?
    When you arrive, scan the Rent-A-Picnic QR code and place your order and pay through the Takeaway Kiosk system.

    Can I walk in and order a picnic package?
    Yes! Picnic packages may be ordered through at Park Side, subject to the availability of food and rental equipment.

    Can I preorder?
    Whatsapp our cafe team at +65 8188 6050 with your name, date & time of collection, order details.

    Where do I collect my picnic?
    Food, drinks and rental equipment are collected from the Park Side kiosk once your order is ready.

  • Is a deposit required?
    Yes. A refundable deposit of $70 is required for every picnic rental, including the Park Sidekick rental.

    How can I pay the deposit?
    The deposit may be paid using:

    • Credit or debit card

    • Apple Pay

    • Google Pay

    PayNow and NETS cannot be accepted for picnic deposits.

    Why can’t I use PayNow or NETS for the deposit?
    Park Side must be able to void the deposit transaction after the rental items are returned. The required void process is not available for PayNow or NETS.

    When will my deposit be released?
    Once all items are returned on the same day and confirmed to be in good condition, Park Side will void the full $70 deposit transaction before end-of-day settlement. Your card will not be charged, so a separate refund will not be required.

    Should I keep my deposit receipt?
    Yes. Please retain your credit card receipt, as the team may require its invoice number to locate and void the correct transaction.

    Will I be charged a transaction fee when my deposit is voided?
    No transaction fee will be incurred for the void transaction.

  • How long can I use the picnic set?
    Your picnic set may be used during your selected rental slot and must be returned by the agreed time on the same day.

    Where do I return the picnic set?
    All rental items must be returned to the designated return point at Park Side.

    Can I return the picnic set the following day?
    No. All loaned items must be returned on the same day.

    What happens if I return the picnic set late?
    Late returns may result in forfeiture of the deposit.

    Do I need to clean the rental items before returning them?
    Please dispose of all rubbish and return the items in a reasonably clean condition. Items stained beyond reasonable cleaning may be subject to replacement charges.

  • Can I add wine to another picnic package?
    Yes. Bottled wines are available for takeaway at 10% off when purchased with any picnic bundle or Park Sidekick rental.

    What is provided with a wine takeaway order?
    A complimentary wine bag with ice will be provided. Disposable wine glasses are also available on loan.

    Do I need to return the wine bag and wine glasses?
    Yes. Any wine bag or wine glasses issued as loaned picnic items must be returned together with the rest of the rental items.

  • What happens if an item is lost or damaged?
    Park Side will first void the full $70 deposit transaction. The applicable replacement charge will then be collected separately.

    What are the replacement charges?

    • Picnic mat: $20

    • Rattan basket: $40

    • 1L flask: $6

    • Wine bag: $2

    • Disposable wine glass: $2 per piece

    Why can’t the replacement charge simply be deducted from my deposit?
    The payment terminal only supports full transaction voids, not partial voids. Therefore, the full $70 deposit must be voided before any replacement charge is collected separately.

    Can more than one replacement charge apply?
    Yes. Multiple charges may apply if more than one item is missing, damaged, unreturned or stained beyond reasonable cleaning.

    Will I be charged for normal wear and tear?
    No. Normal wear and tear resulting from reasonable use will not incur a charge.

    Who determines whether an item is damaged?
    The Park Side team will inspect all returned items and determine whether a replacement charge applies.
